This charming boutique hotel offers stunning views and a peaceful setting, with modern and comfortable rooms that provide excellent value. The hosts are incredibly warm and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. However, the chilly common areas during breakfast could use some improvement to enhance the overall coziness.
We had an amazing stay at City Lights! Angie and Leigh were welcoming hosts who made us feel right at home. The cottage was spacious and had a lovely private garden, though we wished we could have used the BBQ. The location was ideal for exploring Rotorua, especially with a car. Overall, it was the best accommodation we experienced during our trip, and we genuinely didn't want to leave!
Our stay at City Lights was absolutely delightful! The cottage was impeccably clean and featured stunning views of the city at night and charming alpacas nearby. David, our host, was fantastic and even shared a bottle of his home brew with us. Although the main common areas were a bit chilly during breakfast, our overall experience was simply amazing, and we will definitely return.
My stay at this place was nothing short of amazing! The stunning views from the hillside location offered a perfect escape from the hustle of the town. I felt very welcomed by Lee and Angie, who provided exceptional hospitality throughout my stay. The breakfasts were a highlight, showcasing a delightful cold spread that I looked forward to every morning. However, note that other meals aren't provided, which might be something to consider. Overall, a fantastic experience at a hidden gem!
Our stay was absolutely delightful. The lodge provided stunning views and was perfectly positioned away from the sulphur smell of Rotorua. Rooms were exceptionally spacious and clean, although we missed having meals other than breakfast. However, the hosts were incredibly hospitable and made our experience memorable. Overall, the place is fantastic for a relaxing getaway, but keep in mind that lunch and dinner aren't provided on-site.
